The Governing Body
The Governors at Burlington Infants School play a very important role in the life of the school.
There are different types of governors including:
They are all volunteers and have three core functions as set out in the Governors’ Handbook:
Meetings are held in the evenings, or after school, during term time and there are usually about 10 meetings in a year. Governors also often visit school during the day to meet with staff and pupils.
Governors have many different qualifications and skills that they can bring to the role. The best schools have Governing Bodies that are a part of the school team. It can be a very rewarding and challenging role but also a very satisfying one.
If you are interested in becoming a Governor, please call in at the School Office for details or speak to Mrs Angela Norton, our Chair of Governors, at Burlington Pre-school.
