Religion and Worldviews
“The World is my country, all mankind are my brethren and to do good is my religion.”
At Burlington Infant School, we believe that Religion and Worldviews both supports and strengthens what we aim to do in every aspect of school life. Our caring ethos and the value which we place on the personal development of the whole child – spiritually, morally, socially, culturally and intellectually – is reflected in the Religion and Worldviews curriculum, and plays a significant part in the child’s ability to learn and achieve.
At Burlington Infant School we believe that Religion and Worldviews has an important part to play as part of a broad, balanced curriculum to which all pupils are entitled.
We provide pupils with opportunities to learn from religions as well as about religions, reflecting on what it means to have a faith and explore and develop their own spiritual awareness and understanding. Pupils are helped to develop a positive caring attitude towards other people, an understanding of their social and cultural traditions and respect for and appreciation of the diversity and richness of other beliefs and cultures.
Our Religion and Worldviews curriculum follows the Hull and East Riding Agreed Syllabus (Oct 2021).
